Plastic injection molding education reinvented

This use case explains how Pascal PELLEGRINO, a passionate teacher, used Holipress to provide an enriching experience for plastic injection molding students, encouraging them to acquire practical skills and take an active role in their training. Thanks to Holipress, the students completed exciting projects, including the creation of a watch dial prototype. This project allowed students to design molds, 3D print parts, and inject them, highlighting the versatility and educational value of this machine.

Step 1

Initial training on the machine

The teacher trained the students on how to use the HoliPress to understand its operation, safety and best practices.

Step 2

Design of 3D models

The students used Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to create 3D models of a watch face to be prototyped.

Step 3

3D printing of molds

From the models, resin molds were 3D printed and will be used to contain the plastics during the injection process.

Step 4

Plastic injection

The students used HoliPress to inject the desired industrial material, in this case PP, into the molds. This process produced the desired plastic parts.
