This use case showcases how Meaux Factory, a Fab Lab, used HoliMaker equipment to raise awareness about environmental issues among young people, create opportunities for creative recycling, and ensure safety during these activities. The idea was particularly inspiring: making recycled spinning tops from bottle caps using manual plastic injection molding.
Step 1
The plastic caps collected by the young people are sorted to remove any non-plastic contaminants, such as labels or foreign materials, to ensure the quality of the material to be injected.
Step 2
Once the plastic caps are collected, they are processed by feeding them into the HoliShred we provide. This machine reduces the caps into small pieces, creating a plastic material ready for reuse.
Step 3
We wanted to raise awareness among many children about the environmental issues surrounding plastic waste management. The recycled spinning top is an educational tool that helps raise awareness and spark meaningful discussions about creative recycling.
